Akwa Ibom State Chief Judge Urges Women to Uphold Virtues of Chastity

The State Chief Judge, Idongesit Ntemisua, has advised young women to uphold virtues of chastity as a mark of respect for womanhood. Justice Ntemisua gave advice when members of St Maria Society of Ikot Ekpene diocese paid her a courtesy visit. The Chief Judge observed that today’s young women need to be disciplined and focused to reduce immoral activities in the society.
Justice Ntemisua pointing out that any girl could reach the peak of any profession if she is determined and focused. She commended the young women for coming together to form the group with the aim of empowering and grooming young girls and urged other diocese to emulate them. In her statement ‘‘ it doesn’t matter the kind of school you attended whether private or public school, what matters is the fact that you can defend the certificate you got and it will be a source of encouragement to other children’’ she said.
Earlier the president of St Maria Society of Nigeria Ikot Ekpene, Miss Anthonia Oscar, said the group was restricted to groom young women to achieve their dreams and purposes in life. She said the group sees the Chief Judge as a role model and appeals to her to mentor them to become career women. Miss Oscar informed the Chief Judge of the grand finale of the celebration of the association coming up on the last Sunday of July this year. Saying it is a ceremony that will have speakers who will inspire girls to be positive in their outlook in life.
