“I call for a little bit of sensibility in media reporting. I advocate for what
I may call criminal libel as part of Nigerian law so that even people who lampoon
others or write petition will be forced to put down their names. So if we have a
better process of crosschecking stories and x-ray peoples views so that media houses
can always say that they stand by their stories, it will help a lot to restructure
“Yes, I love press freedom, I stand for press freedom, but we must exercise this
freedom in a way that it doesn’t bring others down. Because in exercising our freedom,
it could leave other people in chains.”
